Eric Bibb grew up between a folk musician father and an uncle who founded the Modern Jazz Quartet.

A magnificent singer and guitarist between blues and folk, Eric Bibb is releasing his 35ᵉ album, Ridin’ (Dixiefrog), and leading the Du Mali au Mississippi project (with Habib Koité, Mama Koné, Cedric Watson…), on April 23 at the Philharmonie de Paris, as part of the “Basquiat Soundtracks” exhibition. Elegant septuagenarian, he embodies wisdom… Traveling through Africa for years, multiplying artistic collaborations, the American guitarist and singer Eric Bibb has campaigned for artistic unity and cultural value of the African diaspora around the world.

Since his initiatory journey to Mali in 2012 during the creation of his album Brothers in Bamako, the troubadour has become a griot. He works for the valorization of the African musical heritage whose universalism is the object of cultural reiteration. In addition to his multiple missions of valorization of the black musics, Eric Bibb wants to be the spokesman of an enlightened afro-planetary family.
