Mais les choses sont en train de bouger.<\/p>\n<p>Dilon Djindji, 95 ans, se fait attendre. Le chanteur a promis 30 chansons in\u00e9dites \u00e0 ses fans mozambicains. C\u2019\u00e9tait il y a deux ans. Depuis, rien qui perce du c\u00f4t\u00e9 de Marracuene, sa ville natale, sur les bords de l\u2019Oc\u00e9an Indien, \u00e0 une soixantaine de km au nord de Maputo, la capitale du Mozambique. Il est vrai que Dilon, qui fut aussi membre du groupe interg\u00e9n\u00e9rationnel Mabulu sait prendre son temps : il n\u2019a sorti son premier album qu\u2019\u00e0\u2026 75 ans, soit environ six d\u00e9cennies apr\u00e8s avoir commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 jouer du xigogogwani, quatre fils de p\u00eache tir\u00e9s sur un bidon d\u2019huile d\u2019olive de 5 litres qui lui servait alors de guitare artisanale\u2026 \u00ab <em>Je ne mourrai pas tant que je n\u2019aurai pas gout\u00e9 \u00e0 tout le miel de la vie !<\/em> \u00bb promet-il. D\u2019accord. Le ciel, austral, peut attendre\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mabulu - <em>Podina<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<iframe title=\"Mabulu - Podina (Video Oficial)\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hDULrKaZBVQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dilon Djindji est un tr\u00e9sor vivant. Avec Fanny Mpfumo, d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 en 1987, il f\u00fbt l\u2019un des premiers artistes \u00e0 populariser la trille et trame de ce qui est depuis devenu la carte d\u2019identit\u00e9 musicale du Mozambique&nbsp; : la marrabenta. L\u2019origine du terme est toujours&nbsp; l\u2019objet de discussions passionn\u00e9es entre les puristes du populeux faubourg de Mafalala, en bordure de Maputo, qui fut le creuset culturel des marrabenteros \u00e0 la fin du colonialisme portugais. Certains restent convaincus que le mot est d\u00e9riv\u00e9 du verbe portugais \u00ab rebentar \u00bb qui signifie casser, r\u00e9f\u00e9rence aux cordes de guitare qui explosaient sous les doigts des premiers interpr\u00e8tes de ce rythme d\u2019abord associ\u00e9 \u00e0 une danse ; d\u2019autres estiment que le mot fait plut\u00f4t r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9nergie d\u00e9ploy\u00e9 pour danser. Tout casser, en somme. Dilon Djindji, r\u00e9put\u00e9 pour un nombre de conqu\u00eates aussi impressionnants que ses chansons baptis\u00e9s en l\u2019honneur d\u2019une femme, a sa propre explication : marrabenta, c\u2019est l\u2019acte de d\u00e9puceler une compatriote apr\u00e8s l\u2019avoir s\u00e9duite par le truchement du <em>Chicuembo,<\/em> l\u2019esprit des anciens face auquel il est impossible de rester sto\u00efque et coll\u00e9 sur sa chaise.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dilon Djindji - <em>Maria Teresa<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<iframe title=\"Dilon Djindji - Maria Teresa (Video Oficial)\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/83Vx8-h1pjs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 ses personnages aux destin\u00e9es romanesques, ses hauts lieux, et ses plus de 70 ans d\u2019existence, le marrabenta, n\u2019a pourtant eu que tr\u00e8s rarement l\u2019occasion de se faire connaitre hors d\u2019Afrique Australe et du monde lusophone. Si des artistes panafricains tel que Sam Mangwana l\u2019ont popularis\u00e9 jusque aux rives du fleuve Congo, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des tubes tels que <em>Vamos Para O Campo (Marracuene),<\/em>&nbsp; ou <em>Mo\u00e7ambique Oy\u00e9<\/em>, le son du Mozambique a en revanche toujours eu du mal \u00e0 se faire une place \u00e0 part dans les festivals europ\u00e9ens. La sc\u00e8ne Pandza, hier associ\u00e9e au dancehall d\u00e9sormais m\u00e9tiss\u00e9e aux vibrations amapiano, est l\u2019un de ses rejetons. Le nouveau Jazz mozambicain puise largement dans cet h\u00e9ritage.<\/p>\n<div id=\"title\" class=\"style-scope ytd-watch-metadata\">\n<p class=\"style-scope ytd-watch-metadata\"><strong>Mc Roger - <em>Danca Marrabenta<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<iframe title=\"Mc Roger-Danca marrabenta\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/N0II75gCW-c?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Originaire du Sud rural de ce pays mosa\u00efque, le marrabenta a commenc\u00e9 comme une danse avant de rentrer en modernit\u00e9, suite \u00e0 ses \u00ab&nbsp;<em>exp\u00e9riences migratoires et urbaines transfrontali\u00e8res&nbsp;<\/em>\u00bb, souligne le fran\u00e7ais Didier Nativel, sp\u00e9cialiste de l\u2019histoire culturelle du mozambique. \u00ab&nbsp;<em>Comme de nombreux mozambicains de l\u2019\u00e9poque \u00bb <\/em>pr\u00e9cise l\u2019anthropologue britannique <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.karenboswall.com\/marrabentando-in-gaza\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Karen Boswall<\/a><\/strong>, autre sp\u00e9cialiste du Mozambique : \u00ab&nbsp;<em>Mpfumo et Djindji, sont en effet partis travailler durant les ann\u00e9es 50 ans dans les mines d\u2019or sud-africaines, ramenant une version plus sophistiqu\u00e9e de cette musique rurale qui a des airs de famille avec le Kwela<\/em> \u00bb. Au pays, o\u00f9 la guerre de lib\u00e9ration vient de d\u00e9marrer en 1964, les marrabenteros, d\u2019abord tol\u00e9r\u00e9s par le pouvoir de Lisbonne, se retrouvent censur\u00e9s et surveill\u00e9s par la Pide, la police secr\u00e8te du Portugal, \u00e0 cause des sous-entendus et critiques cach\u00e9es dans leurs paroles. Avec l\u2019ind\u00e9pendance en 1975, et l\u2019arriv\u00e9e au pouvoir du Frelimo et de Samora Machel, le marrabenta va \u00eatre en revanche promue au rang de musique d\u2019Etat. Le groupe Orquestra Marrabenta Star de Mo\u00e7ambique sera l\u2019un de ses ambassadeurs. Mais les difficult\u00e9s \u00e9conomiques li\u00e9es \u00e0 la guerre civile qui oppose \u00e0 partir de 1977 le r\u00e9gime au Renamo, et le durcissement du pouvoir marxiste-l\u00e9niniste, pousse les les marrabenteros \u00e0 se mettre en veilleuse, \u00ab<em> tels des serpents dans la savane<\/em> \u00bb souligne Karen Bowman.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Karen Bowman - <em>Marrabentando in&nbsp;Gaza&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<iframe title=\"vimeo-player\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/60905167?h=b35c3f093f\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Cette travers\u00e9e du d\u00e9sert va durer jusqu\u2019au milieu des ann\u00e9es 90, marqu\u00e9e, par les accords de paix de Rome en 1992, suivies des premi\u00e8res \u00e9lections multipartites. Aujourd\u2019hui, une g\u00e9n\u00e9ration plus aguerrie et professionnelle de marrabenteros peut profiter d\u2019un \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me de labels priv\u00e9s et de festivals, tels que celui de Matalana, mont\u00e9 par Paulo David \u201cLitho\u201d Sithoe. Les femmes ont \u00e9galement trac\u00e9 leur voix. Dans le sillage de la l\u00e9gendaire Eliza Domingas, alias Mingas, les chanteuses se sont affranchies de leur statut de figurantes pour s\u2019imposer cheffe de bande. Sorti en 2022, le dernier opus, <em>Uma Nova Flor<\/em> fait la synth\u00e8se entre vieille et nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration, \u00e0 l\u2019image de ses featurings : du v\u00e9t\u00e9ran <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rETPuDdsyG8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wazimbo<\/a><\/strong> de l\u2019Orchestra Marrabenta Star de Mo\u00e7ambique, \u00e0 l\u2019artiste dancehall <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=sv3t2gUcef0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mr Kuka<\/a><\/strong> en passant par l\u2019une des plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bres figures de la diaspora mozambicaine d\u2019Afrique du Sud, le guitariste jimmy Dludlu.
